State of the Union Address was fabulous. You could tell the President was speaking from the heart not from the Party. He truly has the well being of the People not the Political Party in all that he does. It is too bad the one sitting behind him on the right, Mr. B, cannot find a way to do the right thing "DTRT."
Even Rubio, became a fresh, young, face on Old ideas. He was disingenuous, saying that gun laws would not have changed what happened to those children, but that is not true. I researched Mass Killings throughout the world over time, and most of them were young, angry, white males, but they also include farmers, police officers, students, husbands and fathers, with no records and few signs of disturbance. It is impossible to find all those who might kill, but you can minimize carnage through type of weapons available to the general public. The Mass Killings were never at the hands of "Criminals." So gun laws which keep weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of the mainstream public is part of the puzzle. We don't have to worry about whether criminals will register their guns, of course not, but we don't have to worry about them within the confines of Mass Shootings. Gun registration, will eliminate non-criminals who really should not have a gun, it will make those who have guns more responsible if they have to register, when they sell their gun or they will be responsible if it is found to be used in a crime, or if a child gets hurt or killed accidentally have jail time for punishment. Guess what, those guns will be locked away where no one can get to them. Gun control is about personal responsibility.
The 2nd amendment gives the government the right to bear arms, clearly referring to a time when having a militia was important to our freedom. Never, did the founding fathers intend for individuals to have the right to bear all kinds of weapons:
Then the discussion of Sequestration. Again disingenuous, even though the President came up with it as a compromise (definition: a compromise is when two sides give up some demands to meet somewhere in the middle) thought it necessary to include this. President Obama has decreased the deficit, unemployment, and made money off the Banks that were bailed out. Rubio blamed our government policies for the financial crises, he show how uninformed he truly is. It was due to Banks that created, funded, bundled, sold & took out insurance policies on their viability (I would say they knew the health of these loans from the start). The lack of regulation, regulations put into place years ago, and allowed to be kicked to the curb, is what caused our financial meltdown. If Rubio wants a job in the Public sector, he had better do a better job of getting the facts, that is what the Public will begin to demand, not blah, blah.
Those in Congress who believe that extending the age of social security would solve the problem....I think not it would shift the expense from a privately funded program to Welfare, a government funded program. Many companies are creating employment policies that include retirement at 50, allowing younger employees opportunities to advance. So, then what does the 50 year old do for the next 20 years....can't get social security, even if they do, the average individual gets about $18,000 per year, below poverty level. I can clearly see the roles of food stamps and Welfare exploding. Affordable healthcare would be unavailable, emergency rooms would buldge with those who have no insurance....and this is the Answer to our Problems....

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed".
