Enough is Enough congress needs to "DTRT" Cutting Pay for federal employees, cutting military spending on equipment and repairs, and the list goes on. Cutting the budget "Back" 20 years ago, even 10 years ago, does not make sense. Our population has grown, our roads have been expanded, our bridges are in disrepair, potholes in many cities are causing blown tires and additional expense to the localities, public schools suffer educational deficiency while Private schools flourish, Police departments are cutback while crime expands, localities are resorting more often to volunteer fire & EMT departments, Private contractors working for the government don't know if their contracts will be renewed, because the Gun Lobby has Congress by the short hairs, Police departments are out-gunned by the assault weapons in the hands of the general public, some good guys, some bad guys & you can't tell the difference....what is the upshot, SABOTAGE of the American People and the road to recovery for Political Pay Backs. I believe We the people are being punished by Congress for not voting for their Party, so if they can't get voted in to make change, they will hold America Hostage till they get their way. Even changes to Social Security, etc, will shift those on Social Security to those on Welfare. Companies are currently getting rid of their employees over 50 for the younger, lower paid employees, so, we will have a bunch of people with no income till age 70? Do the math folks. A solution that really makes sense is to have those making over $160,000 pay social security on all their income OMG, we would have social security, Medicare & Medcaid paid for eternity. And those companies that can no long afford to pay their employees a decent wage, profit sharing or a retirement income, can help pay for their retirement via a healthy privately funded program. Don't you dare say that is taking from the rich to give to the poor, it is leveling the playing field, making up for the $10 an hour they pay us so they can live like Kings. A point was tried to be made and I think it proves a completely different point. On the face it looks like the top 400 payed so much in taxes they almost equaled the rest of us. Let's break it down even further: 400 people earning $81,000,000,000 (billion)=$202,505,000 average income each. 69,000,000 (million) people earning $1,050,000,000,000 (trillion)=$15,217 average
income each. Proof we have become a nation of the few making their wealth on the backs of the many.
